Joshua - Lord will help us overcome our challenges.

Joshua

The whole chapter of Joshua is about one main principle that can be said in many different ways.  Essentially --

If we do what the Lord asks of us then the Lord will help us overcome our challenges.  The Lord will bless us to do all that He asks of us.

Some examples ------

Joshua 1:1-9 – The Lord spoke to Joshua and commands him to be of good courage and to keep the commandments.  Tells Joshua that He was always there for Moses and that He will be with Joshua also as he does the Lord’s work.

Joshua 3 & 4 – Joshua leads the Israelites to the river Jordan and parts it so they can pass.

Joshua 6 – The Israelites take over Jericho even though it seemed impossible.

Joshua 8 – The Lord gave them the strength to ambush and take Ai.

Joshua 10 – The Lord sent a miracle to help the Israelites defeat the Amorites.

Joshua 11 – The Israelites are able to conquer the whole land – which seemed impossible but was not with the Lord’s help.

Joshua 15 & 16 & 21 – Because the Israelites did what the Lord asked, practiced faith, the Lord blessed them by giving them their inheritance he has promised.

Judges 4 – 7 basically say that ordinary people can do extraordinary things when they have faith in the Lord and do what he asks of them.  The Lord will give you the strength to do it.

There are many modern-day stories where we are blessed by doing what the Lord asks of us.  When we are given strength beyond our abilities when we do what the Lord asks.
